ION’S HISTORY
Congratulations on your 10th
anniversary! “ION“ was founded
in 2006 under the direction
of Till Eberle, CEO of Boards &
More. The new brand got added
to Board & More’s portfolio that
solely consisted of wind-water
sport brands in those days.
“Till is the godfather of ION”,
Jürgen May adds respectfully
with a little wink. The wealth
of experience of the Boards &
More Group in the production
of hardware enables ION to be
using the highest standards
in their design and manufacturing
processes. It also allows
them access to top quality materials.
The end result of ION’s
efforts is “work wear” for windsurfers
of all levels, from beginner
to pro, that stands out due
to its durability, performance,
and optimal fit. The objective
of the brand has always been –
without loosing touch with its
roots in wind-water sports – to
eventually extend its portfolio
and service also other water
sports. Therefore, ION has gradually
been expanding their core
sports. Today ION’s portfolio includes
kiting, wakeboarding,
SUP, and surfing. Furthermore
the subsidiary ION Bike was
established in 2013. The bike
division deals mainly with the
progressive mountain bike disciplines
downhill and enduro.
