Brandon Scheid: icluding the
biggest wake style/park style
event into the world slider ranking
was a no brainier for us.
[The Triple-S] used to be the
only event, and I'm glad to see
that its success has inspired
others to push the park scene in
their own regions. Generally, it
is about time we all collectively
got together and made a world
ranking for our side of the sport.
I am glad to see that it is in the
hands of the people pushing our
discipline, and not controlled by
someone who has no vested interest
in park riding. I hope that
by starting an overall ranking
we will help inspire another generation
of kiters to pursue park
riding and help grow our aspect
of kiteboarding.
The state of park riding has never
been stronger as far as I'm
concerned. With more and more
large and small events popping
up all over the world, our side of
the sport is gaining in popularity.
I was just recently in Argentina,
mostly in Patagonia and we
are really surprised to see rails
at all the spots we went kiteboarding,
even in the middle of
nowhere. So it’s safe to say that
the rail-riding side of our sport
is catching on. As far as the KPL,
we the riders, wanted to make
sure that our side of the sport
was managed and controlled
by the right people. So we took
it into our own hands to make
sure that we are properly represented
on the world stage.
