Kenzo Totem makes<br />

Malaysian debut exclusively<br />

at be Duty Free<br />

Kenzo debuted in Malaysia with the launch of its new trio<br />

perfume collection, Totem, exclusively at be Duty Free in<br />

September <strong>2016</strong>.<br />

During the exclusive launch, customers enjoyed sleek<br />

promotions and photo-taking activities.<br />

Part of the promotion were a complimentary hologram pouch<br />

with purchase of any Kenzo Totem fragrance or Totem clutch<br />

or men's wallet and Kenzo Homme EDT 5ml with purchase of<br />

two bottles of Kenzo fragrance including at least one Kenzo<br />

Totem fragrance. Customers also took home a complimentary<br />

Polaroid picture with purchase of any Kenzo Totem fragrance.<br />

THREE SYNONYMS OF FREEDOM<br />

Kenzo chose to launch three fragrances instead of just one<br />

because it refuses to be limited to the typical perfumery<br />

'compartments'. The trio are three mighty signature fragrances<br />

which are playful yet universal and possess strong characters.<br />

Circled by a yellow elastic band, Woody Citrus is modern<br />

and sparkling, exhaling an aroma of new freshness. There is<br />

a mixture of pink grapefruit with the mildness of tea leaves.<br />

This combination is backed by an accord of woody leathery<br />

notes that add depth to this joyful scent.<br />

With its orange elastic band, Woody Floral symbolises a new<br />

energy. The Bitter Orange top note boosts up the senses,<br />

amplified by lemon blossom essence. This adds classicism<br />

and structure to this timeless, youthful and delicate fragrance.<br />

Woody Fruity wears a blue band. It evokes a modern,<br />

gourmand kind of sensuality, which is neither too smooth,<br />

nor too obvious. Pineapple opens the way with charm and a<br />

delicious gourmand touch. The cardamom heart adds subtlety<br />

and refinement. The cedar wood base accord radiates a<br />

welcoming, exhilarating warmth.<br />

THE BOTTLE: A MODERN TOTEM<br />

The totem represents a mythic animal in the form of a wooden<br />

sculpture that was venerated by traditional people in North<br />

America. It is an element for rallying. Here, the spirit is present<br />

but the form is anything but ancestral. The bottle is raw and<br />

feels good in the hand, like a modern totem. Its deep blue<br />

glass shape blends sharp angles and soft curves, like a small<br />

bomb filled with energy, ready to explode.<br />

The bottle was designed by the Japanese studio Nendo,<br />

designer of the year MAISON&OBJET in January 2015. Oki<br />

Sato, who founded the studio, is only 37 but is one of the most<br />

prolific and widely recognised designers of his generation.<br />

According to the designer, "You'll always find a bit of humor<br />

that makes the object almost friendly."<br />
