Fukuya or the House of Happiness when literally translated,<br />

is for those who love Japanese food in an utterly perfect<br />

presentation and gastronomic sophistication.<br />

So, head on to the House of Happiness for the months<br />

of September and October and you might just leave<br />

with a smile and fully-satisfied tummy!<br />

For the month of September, order the Atsuage Tofu<br />

if you're having cravings for something fried, cripsy and<br />

yet healthy! The deep-fried tofus come with a slew of<br />

toppings which include grated red radish, ginger, spring<br />

onions and bonito flakes which are dried bonito fish<br />

shavings. The dish comes with a spicy soy sauce dip.<br />

Another dish for the month is the Hotate Cheeseyaki<br />

set which are microwaved Japanese scallops under a<br />

bed of grilled cheese doused in teriyaki sauce. It is<br />

topped with spring onions and flying fish roe. The dish<br />

is served with sushi rice, green salad, miso soup and<br />

sesame dressing.<br />

For the month of October, try the Tori Shogayaki set<br />

which is chicken with ginger sauce cooked alongside a<br />

trio of capsicums in red, green and yellow colours,<br />

Korean mushrooms and bamboo shoots. The dish is<br />

eaten with rice, miso soup, fruit of the day and pickled<br />

gherkin. However, if you're a pescatarian, order the<br />

Maguro Futomaki from the ala carte menu! Raw tuna<br />

is rolled in sushi rice with pickled radish, fresh cucumber<br />

and winter melon skin. It is served with ginger<br />

and wasabi.<br />
