Purradise Cat Cafe
Why: Purradise Cat Cafe’s aim is to support and
improve animal welfare and their holistic
wellbeing. The cafe says its ultimate goal is to
foster rescue cats and socialise them to a loving
environment before finding them their 'furrever'
homes. Purradise Cat Cafe operates within a
self-sustaining business model, where proceeds
from the cafe will be reinvested into supporting
pet fostering and re-homing initiatives.
The cafe is a community space, a hangout spot
where friends, loved ones and pet lovers come
together over drinks to share and experience
memorable fun-filled moments. The 'pawsibilities'
are endless – share cat-ifying stories,
make new friends or be delightfully surprised
by the random antics of little furry 'Kittizens'. It
is a place where one can breathe and relax, one
you come home to. Lots of cat puns but hey we
aren't complaining!
Meow Meow Cafe
Why: This is the first cat cafe in the state of Sarawak
and its owner Janet Then is proud to say that
business is good since the cafe opened its
doors on 30 August 2014."Since then we
received quite a number of international guests
from Australia, England and other foreign
countries. And during the rainforest festival,
quite a number of foreigners visit us too. They
just love the cats' friendliness, took photos and
shared them with friends and family. Since
Kuching (which translates to cat in the Malay
language) is the capital of Sarawak, this cat city
cafe is something different."
Janet also said, "Most importantly we want our
customers to come here to relax and enjoy
themselves with our cats. Other than the main
cat attraction, Meow Meow Cafe offers English-
European coffee, tea and finger food. There's
no limit of time for the cat playroom. Entrance
fee RM10 (USD2.5) is inclusive of one drink."
