in caring for their loved ones, and the possible negative<br />

impacts on the caregivers’ mental and physical health. We will<br />

discuss a suite of evidence-based programs that have proven to<br />

improve perceived stress, subjective caregiver burden, depression<br />

and sense of control of participating caregivers.<br />

Massachusetts convened the country’s first statewide Special<br />

Legislative Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender<br />

Aging in 2014. In 2015 the Commission produced a comprehensive<br />

report addressing overarching recommendations to<br />

state government for changes to long-term support services,<br />

health, housing, and legal issues to benefit LGBT older adults<br />

and caregivers. This session will review the Commission’s<br />

recommendations and their implementation.<br />

The learning collaborative is an emerging setting for providing<br />

training and technical assistance to community-based organizations<br />

seeking to hone business acumen skills that support<br />

healthcare integration. Learn how the National Resource Center<br />

on Nutrition and Aging is working to identify practice models to<br />

help ready local nutrition providers to be part of the new<br />

healthcare and LTSS system.<br />

physical activity program for older adults. EF is disseminated<br />

by Sound Generations and is offered at community organizations.<br />

Collaborating with physical therapists (PTs) offers an<br />

opportunity for community-clinical linkages to connect older<br />

adults to EF.<br />

applications will be described and discussed for older adults.<br />

The clusters of signs of mental health problems will be named,<br />

and various researched mind/body approaches will be described.<br />

Understand how the body and mind interact and how<br />

we can use the energy of the mind to heal the body.<br />
