BUSINESS-ACCENT
Of all operations in the oil and gas sector,
operations related to well construction and
servicing and auxiliary operations require greatest
care and responsibility; and that is precisely
why the Siberian Service company is committed
to taking timely measures to avoid pollution
and ensure efficient response to emergencies
at production sites, progressively curbing the
negative environmental footprint.
The purpose of safety standards and regulations
and of the upgrading of the Siberian Service
company’s industrial manufacturing equipment
are to ensure correct and safe implementation of
all kinds of operations carried out. For example,
when constructing Russia’s northernmost pipeline
underwater passages over the Indikyakha and
Muduyakha rivers at the East Messoyakha field,
the rivers’ natural area was preserved undisturbed
thanks to the Company’s decision to employ
directional drilling technologies. And to eliminate
the effect of heat on watercourses, the wallthickness
of the pipeline passing under riverbeds
is 30% higher.
To avoid damaging the unique Arctic ecosystem,
the pipeline was laid above ground using
special technique for temperature stabilisation of
permafrost soil.
Site managers are personally liable for
arrangement and control over the compliance with
industrial safety provisions and relevant experts.
The Siberian Service company’s management
has set for itself the 0 target, i.e. maximum
reduction of the accident rate, which is a goal
that absolutely all of the Company’s employees
are supposed to pursue. The Siberian Service
company has a special labour and industrial
safety and environmental monitoring department,
which is consistently working to incentivise
employees with regard to individual and collective
security, timely adjustment of the internal
security standards, as well as seeks to facilitate
production modernisation as far as using safe
operation schemes at complex facilities is
concerned.
The Company is committed to continuous
work on improving its operations in terms of
environmental and industrial safety, using stateof-the-art
methods, processes and technologies,
routinely upgrading personnel management,
training and incentive systems.
And one thing to be mentioned in this connection
is a tradition that has caught on remarkably
with the Company’s employees: every year the
Siberian Service company celebrates the Day of
Oil, Gas and Fuel Industry Workers by holding an
day when all of us get an extra
opportunity to dedicate a little bit
more time than usual to sizing up
development of one of Russia’s
key industries,” said Vladimir
Shesterikov, Siberian Service
company CEO, speaking at one
of the environmentalist events.
“We are pleased to see that many
Siberian Service company’s
employees demonstrate
tremendous solidarity coming out
to work together at such events.
By working alongside adults,
children learn to be mindful of the
environment, foster a responsible
attitude to nature, keeping the
place they live in both clean and
comfortable”.
Continual upgrading of
technologies, expanding the
Company’s presence, continuous
retrofitting, social responsibility
and environmental concern all
constitute the Siberian Service
company’s key competitive
strengths.
