The Learning Goal for this Assignment is
Relate properties of atoms and their position in the periodic table to
the arrangement of their electrons.
Alkali Metals
Any elements occupying Group IA (1) of the periodic table,
very reactive.
Alkali Earth Metals
Any elements occupying Group IIA (2) of the periodic table,
they are reactive, but very reactive with water.
Transitional Metals
Any of the metallic elements within Groups 3 through 12 in the
Periodic Table that are missing an electron in the inner orbit
and serve as a transitional link.
Inter Transitional Metals
Elements that have been pulled out of the center called
lancatides and ancatides.
Metals
Element such as, boron, Polonium, Germanium, and
antimony, they are very ductile, malleable, shiny, and solid.
Metalloids
Have properties that are somewhat of a cross between
metals and nonmetals. They have conductivity properties.
Non Metals
Nonmetals have properties opposite those of the metals.
Noble Gases
Group of elements that are odorless, colorless, monatomic
gases with very low chemical reactivity. They have full rings.
