Life Essentials Magazine - June 2017

At Life Essentials Magazine, we understand that every day, a new door opens. What lies on the other side might be a bountiful gift at times, and at others it will be a monkey wrench you weren't expecting. Rather than allow life's unexpected events throw you around, you can take control. Together, we'll find a way to deal with whatever lies on the other side.

CHECK WHICH INSURANCE THE DOCTOR ACCEPTS
If you like your doctor, you might want to make sure your insurance will cover visits
from him. Ask the physician whether he or she is partnered with any insurances. Or, ask
your doctor which insurance he accepts.
CONSIDER THE COST OF CO-PAY
Remember, the cost of health insurance is not restricted to monthly premiums. Many
health insurance providers will have you pay a co-payment or fixed amount of money
for each time you make a visit to a hospital. Balance the cost of the co-pay with the
overall value of the plan.
REQUEST FOR A COPY
OF YOUR RECORDS
Make sure to ask if either your insurance
provider or your physician is supplying
the Medical Information Bureau with your
medical records, as this is mandated. If they
do, it is possible to get a complimentary
copy of your medical records one time
per year. Keep this copy of the records for
your future reference.
CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY
Do you find yourself full of
questions about the policy options for
health care coverage? Call the company to
get answers to all of your questions. Most
insurance companies have customer service
available via the phone to assist with policy
questions. The representatives manning
those phone lines can give you particular
facts that might save you dollars and stress.
When you get sick or hurt is not the best
time to find out you have inadequate health
insurance. Educate yourself on the details
of your health insurance before an incident
happens, and you need to file a claim. You
may find out that you have poor health
insurance, but that is something that you
can rectify at any time.
