712 Weak andfabricated hadiths about '<strong>Ali</strong> ibn <strong>Abi</strong> Trilib<br />

Tirmidhi's words: This is a svange munkar ha dith... we do not<br />

know this hadith from any wstworthy narrator fiom Shurayk.<br />

No. 3723. <strong>Ibn</strong> al-Jawzi said: This is a fabricated hadith. Mishkrit<br />

al-Ma~iibeeh, 311777. <strong>Ibn</strong> d-Jawzi deemed it to be a lie - Al-<br />

Mawdoo 'iit, 11349.<br />

30. "You, 0 '<strong>Ali</strong>, and your party, &hey are the best <strong>of</strong> creatures)<br />

(Qur'an 98: 7)." Its chain <strong>of</strong> narration includes Ahu alJarood,<br />

Ziy2d ibn al-Mundhir d-Kufi, whom al-Hz& - ibn E]lajar called:<br />

a Rsidi whom Yabya ihn Ma'een deemed to he a liar. At-<br />

Taqreeb, no. 2101.<br />

31. "Allah revealed to me three things concerning '<strong>Ali</strong>: he is the<br />

leader <strong>of</strong> the believers, the leader <strong>of</strong> the pious and the leader <strong>of</strong><br />

those with bright faces and limbs." Al-Hh said in al-<br />

Manciqib: Its chain <strong>of</strong> narration is sound. I say: Rather it is very<br />

weak and also intetnpted. Ithcif al-Maharah, 11344. He said that<br />

'Umar ibn d-Husayn d-'Aqeeli and his shaykh Yahya ibn al-<br />

'Ala' ar-Rki are both rejected. In fact, he stated clearly that this<br />

hadith is fabricated.<br />

32. "What great news, 0 '<strong>Ali</strong>. You have become our mawla and the<br />

mawla <strong>of</strong> every believing man and woman." Its chain <strong>of</strong><br />

narration includes '<strong>Ali</strong> ibn Zayd ibn Jad'an, <strong>of</strong> whom al-<br />

Jawzjini said: His hadith is weak. Ash-Shajarah fi Abcil ar-<br />

Rijcil, p. 194. <strong>Ibn</strong> dJawzi said in al-'Ilal al-Mutaniihiyah fil-<br />

Ahcideeth al-Wiihiyah (11226): It is not permissible to quote this<br />

hadith as evidence. From that man hack to Abu Hurayrah, all its<br />

narrators are weak. AI-Bazzir said: A number <strong>of</strong> scholars spoke<br />

about it. Kashf al-Astiir, 490. Ad-Diraqu@i said: It is not strong.<br />

Sunan ad-Diiraqupi, 11103.<br />

33. "May Allah have mercy on '<strong>Ali</strong>. 0 Allah, cause truth to be with<br />

him wherever he goes." Narrated by d-Hgkim, who said: It is
