New generating capacity during year 2027-<strong>2036</strong><br />
<strong>Power</strong> plant projects during the last 10 years according to the PDP<strong>2015</strong> would be<br />
domestic power plants and neighboring country power purchases. The projects were<br />
planned to cope with an increase in power demand and to replace the capacities which<br />
would be retired during year 2027-<strong>2036</strong>. The total capacity of the projects during year 2027-<br />
<strong>2036</strong> would be 20,655 MW as follows:<br />
Renewable power plant 11,004 MW<br />
Domestic 4,004 MW<br />
Neighboring country power purchases 7,000 MW<br />
Pump-storage hydro power plant 801 MW<br />
Cogeneration power plant (2x1,300) 2,600 MW<br />
Thermal power plant 6,250 MW<br />
Coal/Lignite power plant(3x1,000) 3,000 MW<br />
Nuclear power plant (2x1,000) 2,000 MW<br />
Gas turbine power plant (5x250) 1,250 MW<br />
Total 20,655 MW<br />
