respond to program needs.
On the supply side, suppliers see a
more stable situation which assists
their planning, and operations can
be conducted more predictably with
increased efficiency. From a
beneficiary’s viewpoint, this supply
chain is about “Performing for Me”
by providing continued support cost
effectively.
The final type is focused upon cohesion and cooperation through the building of relationships.
Usually, the demands placed upon the chain will be based on actual beneficiary needs, creating
more predictable patterns of demand. These chains will likely provide longer-term assistance, so
there is an emphasis on people and teamwork using decisions based upon consensus. Leaders
need to be good at building relationships, and at providing support and advice to people to enable
them to perform their roles.
For suppliers there may be a need for a tailored service, based upon predictable needs. Usually, this
will arise between loyal and
trusted partners by building
longer term relationships.
From a beneficiary
viewpoint, this supply chain
is about “Relating to Me” by
understanding, and giving
me what I really need.
