For more contemporary fashion
and designs in Phnom Penh, The
to a café, also run by Maads, one
of Cambodia’s leading hospitality
groups with a repertoire of
hotels and restaurants. The
café serves light meals, coffees
and a myriad of drinks. The 240
Starting off as an NGO-based entity back in 1955, Rajana Crafts
was founded to revive the Cambodian arts and design grandeur that
existed from the 9th to 14th century, with an emphasis on resurrecting
the creative talents of the local people. By offering Cambodian people
a sustainable income through their crafts, the organisation has also
offered people a chance to work from home while caring for their
family. Now an independent Cambodian-run nonprofit and social
enterprise, Rajana has two shops in Phnom Penh, one on Street 240
and the other on Street 450. facebook.com/rajanacrafts
features sustainable craft products from
Pomelo for Myanmar, a non-profit craft
shop that supports the livelihoods of 30
disadvantaged group and artisans, as well
as Laurent Villate’s collection of paintings
with the “Views of Phnom Penh,” series.
Vibrant patterned jackets by designer
Anna Lou and a handcrafted map by
Travel Roll from Raphael Seyfried are
among the striking pieces. Eclectic pieces
of furniture are potential buys to surely
change the design mood of your abode
back home. facebook.com/The240pp
