Haere mai KYLA MATATAHI Kyla joined our English Department in Term 1 from Macleans College where she taught for a number of years. She is enjoying being back at Mangere College after being a student teacher here 14 years ago. EMMA MCCOSH Emma is teaching in the Mathematics and PE Departments. Her last job was at Hume Central College in Melbourne. She loves following any sports and has introduced AFL into Mangere College. She is loving her time so far and began her role in Term 1. TARYN SLEE Taryn is teaching in the PE and Languages Departments and began at Mangere College in Term 1. Her previous position was at Glenfield College. She enjoys the friendly and respectful environment at Mangere College, as well as being involved in co-curricular activities. DEB WARD Deb is one of our new Deputy Principals. She has spent the last 10 Years at Epsom Girls Grammar School. Deb grew up in American Samoa and Hong Kong. She has enjoyed the great attitude and respect demonstrated by students. Deb began her role in Term 1. KEREHI WARWICK Kerehi is teaching Te Reo Maori and is in her first year of teaching. She is passionate about her culture and is working towards revitalising Te Reo Maori within the school. KEIR WHIPP Keir is our other new Deputy Principal. He comes to us from Aorere College where he was Head of the English Department. He is enjoying establishing strong relationships with students and staff. BERNADETTE ARSECULARATNE Bernadette has joined our Mathematics Department having previously taught at Southern Cross Campus. She has enjoyed the warm and welcoming nature of our students and staff. ROWENA O’NEIL Rowena is the new Operations Manager at Mangere College. Before coming here, she worked at New Zealand Post as the Northern Regional Delivery Business Manager. Rowena’s weekends are consumed with family first, rugby and motor bike riding. She enjoys the positive atmosphere of MC. PARWATI REDDY Parwati joins Mangere College as the new Accounting and Commerce teacher. She has previously worked at Auckland Girls Grammar, One Tree Hill College, and Papatoetoe High School. Parwati enjoys movies, music, gardening, and cooking. She also has an interest in her local community. MELISSA TUALAULELEI Melissa has recently joined the PE Department and teaches Health and Physical Education. She is a first-year teacher and has been studying teaching at Auckland University. Melissa spends a lot of time with family when she isn’t teaching at Mangere College and is also a Sunday School teacher. Mangere College - 2017 5
