the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of
God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles
of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places."
This is no make-believe conflict. We have to
meet powerful adversaries, and for this work we
are to find our strength just where the early
disciples found their strength. "They were all with
one accord in one place," and as they "continued
with one accord in prayer and supplication,"
"suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a
rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house
where they were sitting. And there appeared unto
them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon
each of them. And they were all filled with the
Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other
tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance."
On another occasion, we read, "when they had
prayed, the place was shaken where they were
