Christ declared, "They went out from us, but<br />

they were not of us." Men of true Christian<br />

principles will take their places, <strong>and</strong> will become<br />

faithful, trustworthy householders, to advocate the<br />

word of God in its true bearings, <strong>and</strong> in its<br />

simplicity. The Lord will work so that the<br />

disaffected ones will be separated from the true <strong>and</strong><br />

loyal ones. Those who, like Cornelius, will fear<br />

God <strong>and</strong> glorify him, will take their places. The<br />

ranks will not be diminished. Those who are firm<br />

<strong>and</strong> true will close up the vacancies that are made<br />

by those who become offended <strong>and</strong> apostatize.<br />

By the wonderful works of God, Cornelius was<br />

led to bring his energetic, faithful life into<br />

connection with the disciples of Christ. Thus shall<br />

it be in the last days. Many will prize the wisdom<br />

of God above any earthly advantage, <strong>and</strong> will obey<br />

the word of God as the supreme st<strong>and</strong>ard. These<br />

will be led to great light. These will come to the<br />

knowledge of the truth, <strong>and</strong> will seek to get this<br />

light of truth before those of their acquaintance,<br />

who, like themselves, are anxious for the truth.<br />

Thus they become conscientious light-bearers to<br />
