means to st<strong>and</strong> in their lot, <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong> in their place,<br />

<strong>and</strong> every soul that has had a responsibility, that<br />

they should have been workers, that they should<br />

have had these principles, that they should have<br />

had patience, just as it is reported "Add to your<br />

faith virtue; <strong>and</strong> to virtue knowledge; <strong>and</strong> to<br />

knowledge temperance; <strong>and</strong> to temperance<br />

patience; <strong>and</strong> to patience godliness; <strong>and</strong> to<br />

godliness brotherly kindness; <strong>and</strong> to brotherly<br />

kindness charity." 2 Peter 1:5. Brethren, we all<br />

need these letters written <strong>and</strong> hung in the chambers<br />

of the mind, <strong>and</strong> to him that doeth these things,--if<br />

you live on this principle you will never fail; "For<br />

so an entrance shall be ministered unto you<br />

abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our<br />

Lord <strong>and</strong> Saviour Jesus Christ."<br />

Now God is in earnest with us, <strong>and</strong> he says he<br />

calls,--oh, I can not tell how it is. It is contemptible<br />

in the sight of God - contemptible. They pause for<br />

fear they are not going to get all that they ought to<br />

have, <strong>and</strong> it leaves a man where he can not - if he<br />

considers that as the principles of heaven, why, it<br />

leaves the man where he will never get to heaven.<br />
