dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the
lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is
in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the
door of this house until the morning. For the Lord
will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when
He seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two
side-posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and
will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your
houses to smite you."
As the Israelites kept their children within their
houses during the time when the judgments of God
were in the land of Egypt, so in this time of peril
we are to keep our children separate and distinct
from the world. We are to teach them that the
commandments of God mean much more than we
realize. Those who keep them will not imitate the
practises of the transgressors of God's law.
Parents must regard God's Word with respect,
obeying its teachings. To the parents in this day, as
well as to the Israelites, God declares: "These
words....shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach
them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of
