DANBURY MEETING POINT
For our April meeting we had an amusing and
informative talk by Rev. Keith Lovell entitled
History through famous people of Essex. Keith is
a regular presenter and we always enjoy his visits
to our group. Then in May we welcomed Dr Jane
Pearson to give a talk on Marks Hall, the decline
and fall of an Essex Jacobean Mansion. This was
another excellent and well-presented historical
talk illustrated with slides. Jane was thanked by
our chairman David Whiteing. Our annual
summer outing this year will be to Marks Hall in
August. Our next meeting on Wednesday 13th
June will be a talk on the Chelmsford Food Bank,
members are asked to bring suitable items with
them, and these are listed on the food bank
website. Meeting Point is a social club for retired
people in and around Danbury, new members
welcome, just come along, second Wednesday
monthly at 2pm in the URC hall, newsletter and
details are on our website.
