Another popular spot in Zhangjiajie is the scenic
Natural Bridge also known as the Natural Rock
Bridge. This bridge connects two of the mountains
together. Young couples and lovers usually place a
padlock on nearby railings and make a small prayer
to never be parted. To complete the ritual, they throw
the padlock key into the chasm below.
After climbing the mountains you might
want a change of atmosphere by visiting the Golden
Whip Stream. Stretching 7.5 kilometres, this waterway
that traverses the gorges turns a golden colour
when the sunlight hits it. In addition, the park is also
home to the Yellow Dragon Cave, with stalactites,
stalagmites and various coloured lights.
Any visit to Zhangjiajie would not be complete
without seeing Tianmen Mountain, which is
reachable by a 7.5 kilometre cable car. This ride takes
40 minutes and is considered one of the longest cable
car rides in the world. From here, one can appreciate
the numerous mountain peaks, and see the ‘99
Bending Road’ which winds its way to Heaven’s Gate.
Heaven’s Gate is a natural stone niche in the cliff face.
At one time a stunt pilot flew through this opening,
landing them a place in the Guinness Book of World
Records. If you want another spectacular view, walk
up the 999 steps that lead up to Heaven’s Gate.
There is also a magnificent glass floored passage
which is nicknamed “The Walk of Faith” which is not
for the faint of heart. At 1433 metres above sea level,
you’ll be standing on only glass, giving the feeling of
floating in midair surrounded by just the mountains
and clouds, definitely an experience of a lifetime.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park isn’t for every
traveller. It’s not recommended for those who do
not like walking. Despite the frequent buses and
cable cars, locations are spaced far apart. If you are
planning to go, make sure you are physically and
mentally fit for the journey.

อุทยานจางเจียเจี้ยอาจไม่ใช่จุดหมายสำ าหรับ
ทุกคน โดยเฉพาะคนที่ไม่ชอบเดิน เพราะแม้จะมีรถ
บัสและกระเช้าไฟฟ้าบริการ แต่การจะไปถึงสถานที่
แต่ละแห่งนั้นเรียกว่าต้องออกกำ าลังกันพอสมควร
ฉะนั้นหากวางแผนที่จะไปแล้ว อย่าลืมเตรียมฟิต
