Will you inform us about the
materials used in the packaging of
mattresses?
PE shrinks film and PE bags are
the two types of packaging used
in the mattress industry. Earlier
bags were more popular but
recently firms have begun to use
PE shrink films for their packaging
needs. Bags had been
manufactured up to certain sizes
but shrink packages use standard
sizes.
What do you say about the
production of these materials?
What about the ones produced in
Turkey and those imported from
abroad?
All of the raw materials we use
may be produced by every company
that has extruders in their
facilities.
Could we be informed about the
procurement, varieties and quality
of raw materials?
Polyethylene materials are sold
by Petkim, the largest petrochemical
producer in Turkey.
G03-5 and G03-21T are the
most consumed types. They all
can be procured from Petkim or
bought from suppliers abroad.
Do the needs for raw materials
differ in line with the development
in packaging technologies?
Certainly, yes. Because, customers
demanding us to improve our
products with an aim to lower
their costs depending on the
developing technologies. So,
we try to improve our products
to fit best to the needs of our
customers.
What is your opinion about the
position of the industry in terms
of its ability to meet demands of
customers in terms of both quality
and quantity?
In terms of production capacity
there is sufficient capacity
in the industry. But, as in the
other industries, there are room
and opportunity for developing
better and more efficient product
varieties to meet the needs of
the companies.
