The enchanting scenery of the volcanic Santorini Island—its
sunsets that sink into the vast sea, breath-taking views, and
white houses carved luxuriously into its rocky landscape—
leaves lasting impressions on one’s soul. Visitors take awway sweet
memories capturing the greatness of nature and the human will for
life. This is Santorini—an enchanted island that was created by a
volcanic eruption 3,500 years ago and is built around the volcanic
crater—the only place in the world where you can swim in a crater
of an ancient submerged volcano.
Born from the tragedy of nature, Santorini’s charmingly dramatic
rocky landscape and steep coastlines are unique; its white and red
beaches of volcanic rock cradled by closed waters and existing above
the sunken, ancient crater. Its volcanic soil adds a special taste to the
island’s distinctive local cuisine. Its vineyards—planted 3,500 years
ago and lasting to this day—are the oldest in the world. Santorini
is a cosmopolitan island that welcomes tourists from every corner
of the world.
