典 市 的 生 活 匆 忙 喧 囂 , 在 外 頭 , 汽 車 喇 叭
在 大 都 市 裡 嗡 嗡 作 響 不 絕 於 耳 。 但 在 畫 廊
內 部 , 相 反 的 是 另 一 種 令 人 安 慰 、 柔 和 的 音
樂 , 伴 隨 著 深 海 演 奏 的 聲 音 。 面 對 眼 前 平 靜 的 海 洋 ,
把 我 帶 到 了 另 一 個 和 諧 層 次 之 中 , 那 就 是 自 然 的 本
身 , 這 讓 我 想 起 了 家 。
那 是 2013 年 我 第 一 次 在 Zouboulakis 畫 廊 觀 看 獲 獎 攝
影 師 Marina Vernicos 所 舉 辦 的 攝 影 展 “ 透 視 海 洋 ” 的 經
歷 。
那 雅 典 的 輝 煌 讓 瑪 麗 娜 對 祖 國 深 感 欽 佩 , 尤 其 是 她
鳥 瞰 到 令 人 印 象 深 刻 的 的 許 多 希 臘 島 嶼 。 在 寧 靜 的 海 域
裡 , 她 將 自 己 的 鏡 頭 指 向 海 岸 ; 鏡 頭 從 希 臘 的 Polyaigos
和 Sifnos 島 開 始 拍 攝 , 再 拍 到 東 非 的 坦 桑 尼 亞 和 印 度 的

Outside, Athens city life bustles — car horns blare
against the backdrop of the general urban hum. But
inside the gallery, it's a soothing opposite — gentle
music with the sound of the deep ocean plays, and the serene
images of the waters transport me to another level of harmony,
that of nature itself, and reminds me of home.
That was my first experience back in 2013 of viewing the
photographic exhibition “Sea Through” by the award-winning
photographer Marina Vernicos at the Zouboulakis gallery.
Raised in Athens, Marina has a deep admiration for her
native country and notably for the many Greek islands that
she captures through impressive aerial views. She has directed
her lens towards the shores and under the tranquil seas of
destinations ranging from the islands of Polyaigos and Sifnos
in Greece to Tanzania in East Africa and Agra in India,
but still, Greece is her biggest love.
“Greece is the most beautiful country in the world and
every place is unique. I personally come from the Cyclades,
Sifnos, which is my beloved. Nothing in the world compares
to our islands. I have travelled to 117 countries and none
compares to Greece,” says Marina, who has been engaged in
art photography for more than 20 years.
