david dryden, cundall
David was appointed as Cundall’s managing partner in June
2002. He has led the organic development of Cundall from
a UK practice with three offices to its current position as
a leading international consultancy with 17 offices in eight
countries. This expansion was most recently recognised at the
2009 Building Services Awards where Cundall was awarded
the international achievement award. David joined Cundall in
1983 from a contracting background. He became a partner in
1989. He has over 30 years experience across a wide scope
of projects, ranging from corporate HQs and government
buildings to mixed-use developments. David’s particular areas
of expertise include critical electrical power systems and
power electronics systems, and he has worked on a number
of data centres and flagship projects including BA Waterside,
Wellcome Trust headquarters in London and the Ministry of
Justice’s, refurbishment of 50 Queen Anne’s Gate, London

Gavin is a chartered civil engineer with over 24 years worldwide
experience in engineering and management. After graduating
from Manchester University in 1982, he joined Cumbria County
Council as a graduate engineer. Gavin joined the Graham
Consulting Group as a senior engineer in 1990 where he began his
international career working on the design of major infrastructure
projects. In 1997 WSP Group acquired Graham Group and Gavin
joined the newly formed WSP International Business. He became
managing director of WSP International Management Consulting in
2001. Gavin is also chair of ACE’s International Business Group.
Roger flanagan, University of Reading
Roger is professor of construction management, School of
Construction Management and Engineering, University of
Reading. He has served on the board of directors of Skanska
AB, Halcrow Group, and companies in USA, Switzerland,
Hong Kong, and South Africa. Roger is also a member of
ACE’s advisory board.
