david dryden, cundall<br />
David was appointed as Cundall’s managing partner in June<br />
2002. He has led the organic development of Cundall from<br />
a UK practice with three offices to its current position as<br />
a leading international consultancy with 17 offices in eight<br />
countries. This expansion was most recently recognised at the<br />
2009 Building Services Awards where Cundall was awarded<br />
the international achievement award. David joined Cundall in<br />
1983 from a contracting background. He became a partner in<br />
1989. He has over 30 years experience across a wide scope<br />
of projects, ranging from corporate HQs <strong>and</strong> government<br />
buildings to mixed-use developments. David’s particular areas<br />
of expertise include critical electrical power systems <strong>and</strong><br />
power electronics systems, <strong>and</strong> he has worked on a number<br />
of data centres <strong>and</strong> flagship projects including BA Waterside,<br />
Wellcome Trust headquarters in London <strong>and</strong> the Ministry of<br />
Justice’s, refurbishment of 50 Queen Anne’s Gate, London<br />

Gavin is a chartered civil engineer with over 24 years worldwide<br />
experience in engineering <strong>and</strong> management. After graduating<br />
from Manchester University in 1982, he joined Cumbria County<br />
Council as a graduate engineer. Gavin joined the Graham<br />
Consulting Group as a senior engineer in 1990 where he began his<br />
international career working on the design of major infrastructure<br />
projects. In 1997 WSP Group acquired Graham Group <strong>and</strong> Gavin<br />
joined the newly <strong>for</strong>med WSP International Business. He became<br />
managing director of WSP International Management Consulting in<br />
2001. Gavin is also chair of ACE’s International Business Group.<br />
Roger flanagan, University of Reading<br />
Roger is professor of construction management, School of<br />
Construction Management <strong>and</strong> <strong>Engineering</strong>, University of<br />
Reading. He has served on the board of directors of Skanska<br />
AB, Halcrow Group, <strong>and</strong> companies in USA, Switzerl<strong>and</strong>,<br />
Hong Kong, <strong>and</strong> South Africa. Roger is also a member of<br />
ACE’s advisory board.
