Nick flew, Parsons Brinckerhoff
Nick is the managing director of the Europe, Middle East and
North Africa region for Parsons Brinckerhoff, responsible for
around 3,000 staff in more than 15 countries. Nick joined PB
from Balfour Beatty Management following the acquisition by
Balfour Beatty in October 2009. A chartered engineer (MICE,
MCIWEM), he has spent most of his career in consultancy, with
over 10 years spent on international business in the Far East,
Europe, and Middle East. He joined Balfour Beatty in 2003 and
has been closely involved with vertically integrated services
through delivery alliance arrangements in the gas, water,
electricity and airports sectors, primarily in the UK but also in
the USA.
Sandy fraser, Brewin dolphin
Sandy is a managing director of corporate finance with Brewin
Dolphin Limited and has almost 30 years of corporate advisory
experience, including particular expertise in mergers and
acquisitions, both public and private. He joined Phillips & Drew
in 1982 and was appointed a director of what was then UBS
Phillips & Drew Securities in 1988. He then joined Guinness
Mahon in 1992 and spent almost 10 years as a director, both
before and after its acquisition by Investec Bank. He has spent
the last eight years in Brewin Dolphin’s Corporate Finance
Division during which time his transaction experience has
included advising on: ECM transactions for Hyder Consulting;
lead-managing the IPO of Scott Wilson Group in 2006; and
acting as joint adviser to Scott Wilson on the recommended
offer by URS Corporation earlier this year.
geoff french, URS Scott Wilson
Geoff was Chairman of Scott Wilson for eight years until its
recent acquisition by URS. He is a civil engineering graduate
who joined Scott Wilson in 1968. Following the transition from
partnership to limited company in 1995 he was appointed to
managing director, initially of the business in the UK. He has
overseen the growth of the Scott Wilson business both in the
