Nick flew, Parsons Brinckerhoff<br />
Nick is the managing director of the Europe, Middle East <strong>and</strong><br />
North Africa region <strong>for</strong> Parsons Brinckerhoff, responsible <strong>for</strong><br />
around 3,000 staff in more than 15 countries. Nick joined PB<br />
from Balfour Beatty Management following the acquisition by<br />
Balfour Beatty in October 2009. A chartered engineer (MICE,<br />
MCIWEM), he has spent most of his career in consultancy, with<br />
over 10 years spent on international business in the Far East,<br />
Europe, <strong>and</strong> Middle East. He joined Balfour Beatty in 2003 <strong>and</strong><br />
has been closely involved with vertically integrated services<br />
through delivery alliance arrangements in the gas, water,<br />
electricity <strong>and</strong> airports sectors, primarily in the UK but also in<br />
the USA.<br />
S<strong>and</strong>y fraser, Brewin dolphin<br />
S<strong>and</strong>y is a managing director of corporate finance with Brewin<br />
Dolphin Limited <strong>and</strong> has almost 30 years of corporate advisory<br />
experience, including particular expertise in mergers <strong>and</strong><br />
acquisitions, both public <strong>and</strong> private. He joined Phillips & Drew<br />
in 1982 <strong>and</strong> was appointed a director of what was then UBS<br />
Phillips & Drew Securities in 1988. He then joined Guinness<br />
Mahon in 1992 <strong>and</strong> spent almost 10 years as a director, both<br />
be<strong>for</strong>e <strong>and</strong> after its acquisition by Investec Bank. He has spent<br />
the last eight years in Brewin Dolphin’s Corporate Finance<br />
Division during which time his transaction experience has<br />
included advising on: ECM transactions <strong>for</strong> Hyder Consulting;<br />
lead-managing the IPO of Scott Wilson Group in 2006; <strong>and</strong><br />
acting as joint adviser to Scott Wilson on the recommended<br />
offer by URS Corporation earlier this year.<br />
geoff french, URS Scott Wilson<br />
Geoff was Chairman of Scott Wilson <strong>for</strong> eight years until its<br />
recent acquisition by URS. He is a civil engineering graduate<br />
who joined Scott Wilson in 1968. Following the transition from<br />
partnership to limited company in 1995 he was appointed to<br />
managing director, initially of the business in the UK. He has<br />
overseen the growth of the Scott Wilson business both in the<br />
