UK and the major international business centres around the
world, ensuring the group’s continued position in the top ten
engineering consultancies. He was appointed chairman in
2002, since when the group’s revenue has more than tripled,
and he oversaw the highly successful flotation in March 2006.
In 2008 he became non executive chairman of the group. In
2005 he was elected to the executive committee of FIDIC, the
International Federation of Consulting Engineers and became
vice president in 2009. He is also a past chairman of ACE in
the UK. He became a vice president of the Institution of Civil
Engineers in November 2008.
Peter gammie, Halcrow
Peter has been with Halcrow for 32 years, 20 of which as a
board director, and for the last eight has been chief executive.
Halcrow is a design and planning consultant, operating in
the field of civil and structural engineering. Halcrow is a top
five player in most of its chosen markets and ‘number one’
in several. Its reputation for the design and delivery of major
projects has been extended over the past few years through
successful commissions such as High Speed 1, The Grand
Mosque in Abu Dhabi and the St Petersburg Navigation and
Flood Protection Barrier. Beyond Halcrow, Peter regularly
engages in industry events and is an active member of
ACE. He is a regular speaker and panellist at seminars and
conferences, both in the UK and internationally. He has
chaired CIRIA since 2007.
Jonathan goring, capita Symonds
Jonathan Goring runs the 4,000 person business of
Capita Symonds. His project career spans the Broadgate
Development, British Airways’ World Cargo Centre at
Heathrow Airport, and latterly strategic advice on Wembley
Stadium, The Shard of Glass, Twickenham South Stand and
London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games. Jonathan’s
business experience has led him through the management
