gavin Thompson, Buro Happold
Gavin is a chartered building services engineer with over
20 years experience. He joined Buro Happold in 1988 and
became a partner of the practice in 2000, before becoming
chief executive officer in 2005. While he is still actively involved
in design and research, his responsibilities are focused on
providing overall leadership for the firm which entails project
involvement, from the earliest stages of exploring the brief with
the client to detailed internal design reviews. He has lived and
worked in mainland Europe, the Middle East, North America,
and Far East and retains a key interest in developing Buro
Happold’s presence overseas. Since Gavin became CEO, Buro
Happold has opened 10 new offices world wide, including
Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Moscow and Pune with expansion
planned in other strategic markets.
eamon Timoney, fehily Timoney and company
Eamon is a co-founder of Fehily Timoney and Company
and the current managing director. He is also joint managing
director of Fehily Timoney Ramboll and Fehily Timoney
Gifford. Eamon has over 30 years experience as a consulting
engineer. He holds an honours degree in civil engineering
from UCD (1976). He is a chartered engineer, a Fellow
of Engineers Ireland, a Member of the Institution of Civil
Engineers, a Member of the Chartered Institution of Water
and Environmental Management and a registered consulting
engineer with the Association of Consulting Engineers of
Ireland. He is currently President of the Association for the
period 2010-2011. Eamon is chairman of the Construction
Industry Council and a member of the Construction Industry
Group.
