Henry Rowe, Royal Haskoning<br />

Henry’s career began in 1974 as an assistant engineer with<br />

Halcrow. He later moved to Pos<strong>for</strong>d Duvivier, <strong>and</strong> his career<br />

has taken him around the world, working on such projects<br />

as the Western Harbour Development Study in Hong Kong<br />

<strong>and</strong> the Port of Jeddah Container Terminal. In 1999 Henry<br />

was appointed maritime director of Pos<strong>for</strong>d Haskoning, later<br />

Royal Haskoning, where he took overall responsibility <strong>for</strong><br />

the work of the division, a vast array of maritime projects<br />

including Massawa Port Master Plan, Eritrea, Duqm Port,<br />

Oman, <strong>and</strong> Cai Lan Port Development in Vietnam. In January<br />

2008 he accepted a position on the Royal Haskoning board<br />

of management. His activities include board responsibility<br />

<strong>for</strong> the Divisions Maritime, Coastal <strong>and</strong> Rivers, Water <strong>and</strong><br />

Environment as well as the Corporate Support Groups ICT,<br />

QMS <strong>and</strong> Marketing <strong>and</strong> Communications. Henry attended<br />

the University of Central London; in 1974 he acquired a BSc<br />

in engineering. He has over 37 years professional experience<br />

including a total of 12 years spent overseas. He has<br />

specialised in the planning <strong>and</strong> design of ports <strong>and</strong> waterways,<br />

covering port master planning, port <strong>and</strong> berth layout planning,<br />

port operations <strong>and</strong> cargo h<strong>and</strong>ling.<br />

Kevin Rudden, Thomas garl<strong>and</strong> & Partners<br />

Kevin has almost twenty years experience as a civil <strong>and</strong><br />

structural engineer. He is a chartered engineer, a registered<br />

consulting engineer <strong>and</strong> a member of the <strong>Association</strong> of<br />

Consulting Engineers of Irel<strong>and</strong>. He was made director<br />

of Thomas Garl<strong>and</strong> & Partners in October 1999. He has<br />

experience of planning, design, project management,<br />

coordination <strong>and</strong> supervision in the construction of a range<br />

of large civil <strong>and</strong> structural engineering projects <strong>and</strong> has<br />

extensive experience of the day-to-day management of<br />

building <strong>and</strong> civil engineering projects. Kevin has been an<br />

executive member of the <strong>Association</strong> of Consulting Engineers<br />

of Irel<strong>and</strong> since 2004, <strong>and</strong> is currently honorary secretary <strong>and</strong><br />

the convenor of the Joint <strong>Association</strong> of Consulting Engineers<br />

of Irel<strong>and</strong>/Institution of Engineers of Irel<strong>and</strong> health <strong>and</strong> safety<br />
