I first came here in November 2015. I wanted to
study in an international university where tuition is
not that expensive and some classes are taught in
English, and I like that it’s in Jeonju because it’s not
as crowded as Seoul or Busan. Since I speak Korean
language well I made a lot of Korean friends who
help me to understand Korean culture better. I’ve
travelled around Jeonju and Jeollabuk-do often and I
visited almost all the famous places here. The most
unforgettable place was the place with the waterfalls,
but sadly I forgot the name of it. I like “O’s Gallery”
coffee shop a lot, because of the nice view.
Special New Year’s Tradition: In my home country,
we celebrate the New Year with fireworks and the
streets are filled with festive decorations. Since our
religion is Islam, we don’t celebrate Christmas, but
we do celebrate New Year. We wait until 12 a.m. on
December 31st with our family. However, I think in
Korea things are different. Most people go out and
hang out with their friends on Christmas day and New
Year.
