Compare bathroom (bath + room) with sitting-room (sitting +
room). Some compound (two-word) nouns are one word;
some are joined by a dash (-) and some are two words.

Check that you know the main room names and other areas:
sitting-room, living-room, dining-room, kitchen, hall, bedroom,
bathroom, toilet, stairs, landing.

Notice the plural of self is selves.
