Emily was sure if looks could kill, the look Maura shot her would have been deadly. “Why

exactly am I paying you? You’re supposed to be watching the kids. Not having play time with

your girlfriend.”

“Wow,” Riley interjected. “Dial back the bitch meter Maura. That was uncalled for.”

“Did I ask for your input Riley? This matter is between Emily and I,” Maura said, her voice icy

and cold.

“Hey, it’s not her fault your kids act like Satan incarnate.”

Maura’s eyes widened as she placed Maddy and Abby back on the floor. “You know what

Riley? Go fuck yourself.”

Out of Maura’s grip, the twins and Amelia immediately began to once again tussle on the floor.

Jane walked down the stairs to find Riley and Maura at each other's throats, while neither were

paying attention to the twins and Amelia who were battling it out on the floor. Emily just looked

petrified and frozen in place.

Jane let out an ear piercing whistle that got the attention of adults and kids alike.

Jane quickly put the three kids in opposite places in the living room. “Don’t move,” she said

while turning her attention back to the adults.

“Does someone want to tell me what the hell is going on?”

Maura and Riley both started to explain, yelling a top of one another.

“One at a time!” Jane said, the annoyance in her voice ringing loud and clear.
