just let me be happy?” Cailin slams her laptop shut, and heads up the stairs, passing a stunned

Blaire on her way.

“Mom, did she, did she say 20%?” Before Maura could reply, Blaire also took off up the stairs.

“I’ll go talk to them,” Jane said as she put down her phone and stood.

“No, I'll go,” Jess said, nearly tripping Jane as she quickly cut off Jane’s path.

“Actually, i’ll go,” Maura says. “I’m the one that upset her. I just have to explain…” Maura is

cut short by Jess.

“That’s the problem mom. Let her breathe. You are a micromanaging doctor from hell. Leave

her alone.”

Jess quickly realized she made a mistake. She wasn’t sure what scared her worse, a pissed off

Jane or a pissed off Maura

“What did you say to me?” Maura’s voice was icy and cold and the look Jane gave her burned

clear through her. .

At that moment, Emily and Riley walked in. Emily takes one look at Jane and Maura’s faces and

quickly ushers the twins and Amelia out of the room to get them dressed, while Riley tries to

ignore the elephant, and takes over making breakfast.
