Blaire could tell by Cailins tone and the serious look on her face, that joking time was over.

"Okay, I'm listening. What's wrong?"

Cailin breathed deeply. "I don't know how else to say this. Blaire, I have cancer, Leukemia to be

exact." Blaire sat back with a look of confusion and anger. "What? H-how, no, no! That has to be

a mistake." Blaire looked to Cailin for any signs that what she was just told wasn't true but found

none. "Is this some kind of joke?"

"Unfortunately it's not kiddo." Blaire turned to see Jane and Maura in the threshold of the living

room.

"Ma, mom tell me that she's lying, tell me there's been a mistake!" Blaire pleaded, but when

neither one said anything Blaire knew it wasn't a joke by a long shot. She looked to Cailin then

back to her parents with tears welling up in her eyes. She quickly wiped them away before

heading for the door.

Cailin was about to follow when Jane stopped her. "I'll go after her, she'll be okay." Jane hugged

her sister in law before heading out the front door after her daughter.

Maura's heart was breaking for her sister, her kids, her mother, for everyone. When Cailin looked

at her, ready to burst into tears,Maura quickly sat down next to her and hugged her tightly.

"It's okay Cailin, Jane will bring her back. It was better for her to hear it from you sweetie."

Maura remarked as she held her. Cailin began to sob as she clung to her sister.

A little while later Jane comes back inside. Maura and Cailin looked up and Maura was the first

to speak. "Is she okay?" Her voice was full of concern.

Jane sighed and rubbed her neck. "I think she will be okay, she just needs some time to process

and cool off. Cailin she's not upset with you, I think she's just feeling a lot of emotions right now.

I told her to come and talk to you when she's ready." Cailin nodded.
