"What about the littles?" Cailin shifted nervously. "Would you guys talk to them? I just don't
know how to tell two 5 year olds and a 7 year old about this."
Maura reached across the table for her sister's hand. "It's okay Cailin, we can just tell them you
are sick but that you are going to get better." Maura gave the brunette a small smile, after all it
wasn't a lie. Cailin was sick but she would get better. “She's going to beat this”, Maura thought to
herself.
Callie was the first of the girls to be told of Cailin’s diagnosis.
"Wow, Cailin I'm so sorry," Callie said after hugging her. "You're going to beat this. You’re a
lot like ma so I know you are not going to give up without a fight." Callie smiled at Cailin and
gave her a nudge. "Right?"
Cailin smiled. "Right." Cailin knew of all the possible challenges she would be facing moving
forward but with the support of her family she was scared but determined to beat this. Jane and
Maura handled talking to the twins and Amelia now the only person left was Blaire.
Cailin pulled out her phone and called Blaire. The blonde answered on the second ring.
"Hey B, are you busy right now?" Cailin nervously fidgeted with a loose string on her shirt.
"No, I'm just leaving the boys and girls club. I needed to drop off a few things before I figure out
what I'm going to do with my day off," Blaire remarked with a laugh.
"Would you or could you come by the house? There's something I need to tell you before you
hear it from someone else." Cailin didn't have to ask twice.
"I'll be there in 10," was all Blaire said before hanging up.
