“Callie, first off, this door is supposed to be open.”

Callie and Adam both blush. “Sorry mom, I forgot. We weren’t doing anything,” she says with a

laugh.

“ Second, we are getting ready to do cake and ice cream if you and Adam would like to come

down and join everyone.”

“Thanks mom, we’ll be there in a minute,” Callie replied.

Jess, Amelia, and Maura head downstairs.

After the twins had opened presents and ate way too much cake and ice cream for Maura's liking,

the kids all went to play outside while being chased down by their uncles. Riley, Angela, Maura,

and Emily went to work cleaning up the mess. Callie and Adam made their way back upstairs,

and Jane and Blaire went outside to play basketball.

Jess found she and Cailin sitting alone at the table. She glanced over at the brunette who was

leaning on the table with her head in her hands. “Hey, you alright Cailin?”

Cailin looked up and smiled. “Yes, i’m just tired. Medical school is kicking my ass. I will be so

glad when it is over.”

Jess was worried about the lack of color in the girls face but immediately pushed it aside. Cailin

was probably right. She did have a demanding schedule now. Jess looked at Cailin and grinned.

"I know what you need. How about we go out and play some basketball with Jane and Blaire?

That ought to wake you up.”

Cailin smiles. “Sure, why not.”
