TEACHER’S FEEDBACK FOR IDS 2021 – 2022
TRADITIONAL BOARD GAMES ACROSS THE WALLS
It’s a privilege to be a part of the IDS project – ‘TRADITIONAL BOARD
GAMES ACROSS THE WALLS’ under British Council IDS 2021-22. The
activities conducted under this project helped children as well as
teachers to learn about the different traditional games played in
India, China, Canada and Egypt. Playing board games teaches how
to set goals and be patient and also enhances creativity and selfconfidence.
It also stimulates brain areas that are responsible for
memory formation and complex thought processes for all ages.
Engaging in play assists in practicing essential cognitive skills, such
as decision making, higher level strategic thinking and problem
solving. It was a great experience of planning and conducting
activities, sharing information with our creative young minds
along with the enthusiastic team and was a wonderful teachinglearning
experience.

It is my immense pleasure to be part of ‘Traditional Board
Games Across the Walls,’ an IDS Project under the British Council
2021-22. The activities conducted were focused on creating life
skills and virtues like punctuality, discipline, team work,
physical and spiritual health. These Traditional games from
different countries, India, China, Canada and Egypt are
‘abstract strategy games’ which rely on player's thinking, logic
and visual perception skills. These board games increase the
brain function, enhances creativity and self-confidence which
helps in the holistic development of a child.
