Innovation in architecture is no doubt extremely
important, but preserving and restoring the old
buildings is also important because those old
monuments are the reflection of our history, they help
us to understand and respect people who lived in
different eras with different habits and traditions.
With this thought we started our project Enduring
Monuments and Buildings under IDS. The aim of the
project was to make students aware of important
aspects of heritage education and experiencing our
culture first hand by visiting a historical building.
Through this project students were able to understand
that historical monument is a rich source of History. It
gives us a sense of wonder and makes us curious to
know more about the past connected with it. The
study of a monument helps the students construct
History through observation.
The activity generates interest in historical buildings
and develops observation skills. They help us to
appreciate our past and the level of development,
knowledge and thoughts. In a way, they provide life to
our past. They serve as important sources /evidences
of history and they enhance tourism.
Through the project and different activities under it
not only students but we teachers also learnt a lot
about monuments and heritage site. The project was
an eye opener and gave an answer to us that why
should we preserve and display sources of historical
importance.
The one of its kind project on the whole made it
easier for us understand and appreciate with pride the
glorious era in which these heritage sites of our
county were built.

sites get enriched. They came to know about
influential personalities from the past and their
great deeds belonging to the city, Nagpur. Our
partners from UAE enjoyed and appreciated the
glories of our country.
It was a marvelous journey of the Heritage sites of
the world where prominent personalities and
adorable children with their internal feelings for
their motherland, interacted. Through all these
efforts we came to know that Monuments and
memorials should be protected by us as they are
our historical wealth.
Everyone should feel proud to be a part of it.
