added, exports, etc.). This is what is done notably in the European Cluster Observa<strong>to</strong>ry 20 .<br />
As with the previous type of analysis, analysis of specialisation changes over time is likely<br />
<strong>to</strong> bring more insightful elements than static analyses.<br />
The elements identified in point 1 <strong>and</strong> 2 above should be highlighted when conducting a<br />
preliminary analysis/ (self-) assessment of the regional innovation system <strong>and</strong> strategy. Further<br />
elements are suggested in Box 5.<br />
