• Promote cluster management excellence by using the European Cluster Excellence<br />

initiative 42 <strong>to</strong> develop competent clusters that are able <strong>to</strong> sustain regional growth in the<br />

long run.<br />

Strengthen local <strong>and</strong> international cluster cooperation, in particular <strong>for</strong> addressing emerging<br />

industries:<br />

• Streamlining funding resources <strong>to</strong> support joint projects between clusters working in<br />

different industries in view <strong>to</strong> create new competitive advantages under the smart<br />

specialisation strategy;<br />

• Identify <strong>and</strong> create optimal cluster-specific conditions <strong>to</strong> facilitate the emergence of new<br />

industries through clusters in the context of the smart specialisation strategy;<br />

• Promote internationalisation, including trans-national cooperation, in particular by<br />

making use of the European Cluster Collaboration Plat<strong>for</strong>m 43 .<br />
