Privilege Class: B<br />

Use the Query HCD comm<strong>and</strong> to display whether HCD is active. If HCD is active,<br />

the current production IODF, dynamic hardware change status, software<br />

configuration control information, <strong>and</strong> recovery status will also be displayed.<br />

Response 1:<br />

When the Query HCD comm<strong>and</strong> is issued <strong>and</strong> the <strong>VM</strong>/HCD service virtual machine<br />

is not in control of the hardware or software I/O configuration, then the following<br />

response is issued:<br />

query hcd<br />

HCD is not active<br />

Ready;<br />

Response 2:<br />

When the Query HCD comm<strong>and</strong> is issued <strong>and</strong> the <strong>VM</strong>/HCD service virtual machine<br />

is in control of the hardware I/O configuration, but currently is disabled for dynamic<br />

hardware changes <strong>and</strong> is not in control of the software I/O configuration <strong>and</strong> HCD<br />

recovery is not required, then the following response is issued:<br />

query hcd<br />

HCD is currently active: IODF = IODF02 PRODIODF<br />

HCD is disabled for dynamic hardware changes<br />

HCD is not controlling the software configuration<br />

HCD recovery is not currently required<br />

Ready;<br />

Response 3:<br />

When the Query HCD comm<strong>and</strong> is issued <strong>and</strong> the <strong>VM</strong>/HCD service virtual machine<br />

is in control of the hardware I/O configuration <strong>and</strong> currently is enabled for dynamic<br />

hardware changes, but is not in control of the software I/O configuration <strong>and</strong> HCD<br />

recovery is not required, then the following response is issued:<br />

query hcd<br />

HCD is currently active: IODF = IODF02 PRODIODF<br />

HCD is enabled for dynamic hardware changes<br />

HCD is not controlling the software configuration<br />

HCD recovery is not currently required<br />
