Recycle, reusable or compostable
– Kraft is striving to achieve
net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Paper bottles should help.
Only a few years ago if you wanted to
do something for the environment and
assuage your conscience, you would reach
for reusable glass bottles and jars. Shoppers
did this instinctively after Tetra Paks
became a no-no, because no-one could
decide whether they belonged in the waste
paper or the plastics bin, or somewhere
else altogether? And single-use plastic bottles
and containers were in any case already
beyond the pale.
The taboo status acquired by the latter is most
certainly down to pictures of beaches littered
with plastic waste and of seabirds tangled up in
plastic having suffered torturous deaths. Lately,
traces of microplastics have even turned up in
the remotest mountain regions.
