The Santa Clara street in Puebla, also known as<br />
Calle de los Dulces, is lined up by small stores<br />
selling typical sweets – candied fruit, cookies,<br />
marzipan and nuts.<br />
La calle Santa Clara en Puebla, también<br />
conocida como Calle de los Dulces, está poblada<br />
por pequeñas tiendas que venden dulces típicos:<br />
frutas confitadas, galletas, mazapán y nueces.<br />
The tradition started in the 18th century by the<br />
nuns who combined the ingredients in different<br />
combinations. Most products are still made in an<br />
artisanal manner by hand, using heirloom fruit<br />
and brown cane sugar.<br />
La tradición comenzó por las monjas en el siglo<br />
XVIII, quienes prepararon los ingredientes en<br />
diferentes combinaciones. La mayoría de los<br />
productos se elaboran artesanalmente, utilizando<br />
la fruta local y el azúcar de caña.<br />
