In the aviation sector, reliability, safety and
precision are not only recommended, but essential.
High vibrations and extreme environmental conditions
characterize aerospace applications, so compliance
to high standards and international certifications are
paramount even when talking about the smallest detail.
From this point of view, Growermetal SpA has kept
in step with the times, paying particular attention to the
evolving needs of this demanding industry. A focus that
reflects both in the variety of washer solutions and parts
and in the company’s commitment to conformity.
Among the latest milestones, in 2021 the Italian
washer manufacturer has obtained the AS/EN 9100
certification for quality management system according to
the aerospace specifications. A goal made possible by
the constant investments in research and development,
that definitely opened the way to aerospace and defense
markets.
Thanks to this achievement and to 70-year-long
expertise gained by the manufacturer in the fastener
industry, today Growermetal’s engineers offer flat washers,
spring washers and safety washers according to aerospace
standards (such as the MS – Military Standard and the NAS
– National Aerospace Standard), and also special stamped
parts according to customer’s requirements.
These products are available in a variety of raw
materials, which include iron, carbon steel, aluminum,
titanium, Inconel, brass, copper, bronze, stainless
steel and CRES materials, and with many surface
treatments. From this point of view, Growermetal’s
management system sets the company apart thanks
to the combination of designs, treatments, coatings

and quality testing, all carried out in-house. In this way,
customers can choose between electrolytic zinc plating,
cadmium plating, passivation, anodization, black oxide,
mechanical zinc plating and phosphating, all available on
Growermetal’s washer range.
In addition, advanced monitoring technologies and
comprehensive inspection of every part produced allow
preventing any possible faults in production and ensuring
flawless performance during application. Whenever it
comes to transparency, the company also provides
the customer with all technical and quality assurance
documentation required by the supply chain of the
aerospace industry.
Shifting the focus to recent partnerships, in 2023
the company’s approach has led to the joining of the
Lombardia Aerospace Cluster: a network that involves
more than 100 local and international companies,
universities, research centers and many other realities
with the aim of creating value, innovation and competitive
growth for the aerospace industry.
Moreover, the focus on aviation and space innovation
is clear if one thinks about Growermetal’s adhesion to
important trade fairs. After participating in Hai Heli-Expo
in Anaheim and the Aerospace & Defense Supplier
Summit in Seattle, 2024 will bring the Italian fastener to
some of the most important international events.
The next stops will include MROS Americas (9-11
April), the Aerospace & Defense Meetings Sevilla (14-16
May) Farnborough International Airshow (22-26 July) and
finally AEROMART 2024 (3-5 December). A rich agenda
that fully expresses Growermetal commitment to its
aerospace and defense customers.
