desirable green parent, indicating that transgressive segregation occurred. The least<br />
green RIL was RIL 81, with a high mean index of 7.45. It was significantly (a =<br />
0.05) less green than most RILs in the study. 1294M-23 was a more desired green<br />
than the mean index of 5.72. The ten greenest RILs all had significantly lower<br />
index scores than the ten least desired green genotypes (Table 4.8).<br />
