departure. We depart for Kiev with a<br />
change of plane in Frankfurt.<br />
KieV. Upon arrival in Kiev, we transfer to<br />
our cruise ship, the MS Fidelio. Balance of<br />
the day is at leisure. Tonight we enjoy our<br />
Welcome Aboard Dinner.<br />
KieV. Ukraine’s charming capital is a<br />
tourist’s delight with its numerous<br />
monuments and unique architecture. Our<br />
city tour includes “Vladimir’s Old Town” –<br />
the place where Prince Vladimir the<br />
Baptist founded his Kremlin and built the<br />
first Christian church in Kievan Rus State.<br />
See the Golden Gate of Kiev, University<br />
Building, Opera House, Kreshchatik<br />
Street, Arch of Friendship Monument and<br />
St. Vladimir’s Cathedral.<br />
KieV. Today is at leisure to explore Kiev on<br />
your own or join an optional tour.<br />
KaneV. This city is one of the main inland<br />
river ports on the Dnieper River. Ukrainian<br />
poet Taras Shevchenko, considered a<br />
founder of Ukrainian literature, is buried on<br />
a hill overlooking the river. We will visit a<br />
memorial museum dedicated to him.<br />
KreMenchug. We arrive at this<br />
industrial city and embark on an excursion<br />
to an agricultural village where we will<br />
have the opportunity to visit a local school,<br />
a farm and some of the peasant houses.<br />
dnepropetroVsK. Enjoy a city tour of<br />
Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine’s fourth largest<br />
city with one million inhabitants. A vital<br />
industrial center of Ukraine, it was one of<br />
the key centers of the nuclear arms and<br />
space industries of the former Soviet<br />
Union. It is home to Yuzhmash, a major<br />
space and ballistic missile designer and<br />
manufacturer.<br />

ZaporoZhYe. Today we enjoy a tour of<br />
the old city of Zaporozhye. In the 15th to<br />
17th centuries this was the site of the<br />
Cossack fortress Zaporozkskaya Sech,<br />
and so we will visit the Cossack Glory<br />
Museum. An optional tour will be offered<br />
to see a Cossack Equestrian show, in<br />
which the Cossacks demonstrate their<br />
horsemanship and skills with the use of<br />
firearms and swords.<br />
Kherson. Our ship will approach the<br />
Dnieper Delta and the town of Kherson,<br />
situated on beautiful lands famous for their<br />
vineyards. Enjoy the city tour – one of the<br />
greenest cities in the Southern Ukraine.<br />
Stroll along the picturesque embankment<br />
and visit St. Catherine Cathedral and the<br />
Fine Arts Museum.<br />
odessa. Early morning arrival at the port<br />
of Ochakov, from where we embark on our<br />
sightseeing tour of nearby Odessa, known<br />
as the “Pearl of the Black Sea”. We will<br />
see attractions such as the Opera House<br />
and the famous Potemkin Stairs which rise<br />
460 feet from the sea to the upper levels of<br />
the city. As well we will see the Museum of<br />
Western and Oriental Art and the Museum<br />
of Archaeology – all symbols of the city’s<br />
splendid past and superb present. Lunch<br />
will be at a local restaurant, and this<br />
evening is our Farewell Dinner on the ship.<br />
diseMBarKation / hoMe. Time to bid<br />
farewell to your new friends after your<br />
unforgettable journey. We fly home via<br />
