departure. We depart for London.<br />

London. We arrive in London and transfer to<br />

our hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure.<br />

This evening is our Welcome Dinner.<br />

London. Our city tour shows us<br />

Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, St.<br />

Paul's, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Trafalgar<br />

Square and more. Afternoon at leisure.<br />

stonehenge / saLisBurY / Bath. We<br />

visit ancient Stonehenge with its tales of the<br />

Druids and sun worship. We then visit<br />

Salisbury Cathedral before travelling on to the<br />

Roman town of Bath for a 2-night stay.<br />

Bath. Our tour of this unique city shows us<br />

the hot springs, the unique Georgian<br />

architecture and a visit of the 15th century<br />

Bath Abbey, England’s last great medieval<br />

church. Afternoon at leisure to explore the<br />

Georgian streets and picturesque walkways.<br />

WaLes / chester. We enter Wales and<br />

visit the amazing Dewstow Gardens. These<br />

gardens, with their tunnels and underground<br />

grottoes, were buried for 50 years and<br />

rediscovered in 2000. We continue on to<br />

medieval Chester, and our tour there will show<br />

us the walls which encircle the city, the unique<br />

two tiered shopping galleries (known as the<br />

'rows') and the black and white old buildings.<br />

WaLes / chester. We head up to North<br />

Wales, a fascinating mix of modern seaside<br />

resorts and historic, ancient towns. We visit<br />

Conwy Castle, perhaps the most impressive<br />

of all the medieval Welsh castles. We return to<br />

Chester for some free time to explore.<br />

YorK. We proceed to York, the traditional<br />

county town of Yorkshire. Steeped in history<br />

and period architecture, tourists flock here to<br />

see the surviving medieval buildings, the<br />

Shambles (one of Britains best known<br />

streets), and of course York Minster, the most<br />

dramatic church in Northern England. We will<br />

enjoy a walking tour of these sights and then<br />

some free time to explore and shop.<br />

YorK. A day of scenic beauty as we enjoy a<br />

nostalgic train ride through the spectacular<br />

countryside with its vast moorlands, dramatic<br />

sea cliffs and the hidden valleys of the<br />

Yorkshire Moors. Later we enjoy a fabulous<br />

home cooked pub dinner in a quaint village on<br />

the edge of the moors.<br />

edinBurgh. We travel north to Scotland. As<br />

we drive through the area known as the<br />

“Borders” enjoy the views of rolling green hills,<br />

moorlands and quaint towns until we arrive at<br />

our centrally located hotel in Edinburgh.<br />

edinBurgh. With its stunning Georgian and<br />

Victorian architecture and winding medieval<br />

streets, Edinburgh is listed as a World<br />

Heritage Site. Our city tour will include a visit<br />

to Edinburgh Castle. Afternoon at leisure<br />

followed by dinner at a local pub.<br />

inVerness. Our first stop is St. Andrews,<br />

home to the game of golf for over 600 years<br />

and also the third oldest university in Britain.<br />

Our walking tour will show us the ruins of the<br />

cathedral, castle and parts of the campus.<br />

After some free time to explore we proceed to<br />

the Culloden battlefield where Bonnie Prince<br />

Charlie was defeated in 1745. This evening<br />

we enjoy a special Highlander performance.<br />

sKYe. We travel along the shores of Loch<br />

Ness, where we may catch a glimpse of the<br />

famous monster 'Nessie'. We visit the<br />

magnificently located Urquhart Castle, and<br />

then Eilean Donan, located within a secluded<br />

inlet between the mainland and Isle of Skye, it<br />

is one of the most iconic images of Scotland.<br />

ft. WiLLiaM. Today we experience the<br />

unforgettable Isle of Skye, a place where time<br />

means nothing. The island is dominated by<br />

the visual treat of the jagged Cuillin<br />

Mountains. We will have free time in the old<br />

capital of Portree with its colourful houses and<br />

traditional harbour, and visit the pastoral south<br />

of the island. We then ferry across the Sound<br />

of Sleat back to mainland and proceed to Ft.<br />

William. This evening we dine at a local inn.<br />

gLasgoW. We drive through Glen Coe, site<br />

of one of Scotland’s most infamous battles.<br />

Before entering Glasgow we visit a “lowland”<br />

distillery for a tour and a wee dram! After<br />

checking into our central Glasgow hotel we<br />

drive into Ayrshire to experience Scottish<br />

hospitality, food and entertainment.<br />

gLasgoW. Our city tour shows us the<br />

elegant streets lined with beautifully<br />

preserved Victorian buildings, the magnificent<br />

City Chambers, Glasgow Cathedral and the<br />

Doulton Fountain (the largest terracotta<br />

fountain in the world). Afternoon at leisure<br />

followed by our Farewell Dinner.<br />

hoMe. We fly home via London.<br />
