departure. We depart for Venice with
a change of planes in London.
Venice. Upon arrival in Venice we transfer
to our hotel. The afternoon is at leisure until
our Welcome Dinner this evening.
Venice. Our guided tour of this magical
city will show us St. Mark’s Square, the
Bridge of Sighs, the Doge’s Palace and
more. In the afternoon we will enjoy some
time at leisure to explore or perhaps visit
one of the many famous glass factories.
postoJna caVes / LJuBLJana
(sLoVenia). We travel by coach and
enter Slovenia, where our first stop will be
Postojna to visit the incredible Karst cave
system. A mini-train takes us through this
fantastic underground world of beautiful
stalactites and stalagmites. We continue
to Slovenia’s medieval capital, Ljubljana.
LJuBJana. Our morning city tour will
include a funicular ride to Ljubljana castle
for a panoramic view of the old town and
red-roofed houses. The afternoon is at
leisure to stroll the old town with its small
shops, outdoor cafes and charming
restaurants.
LaKe BLed / LJuBJana. Today’s tour
at emerald-green Lake Bled includes a
visit of Bled Castle, which stands on a cliff
above the lake with spectacular views,
and a “pletna" boat ride to the island
where you can ring the bell at St. Mary’s
Church for good luck.
ZagreB (croatia). We enter Croatia
and proceed to the capital city of Zageb.
ZagreB. Our city tour will include a
funicular ride to the Upper Town where a
complex of churches, palaces, museums,
government buildings and galleries has
retained much of its old-world charm and
graciousness.
pLitVice LaKes / Zadar. We depart
for Plitvice Lakes National Park, a lush
valley with 16 terraced lakes strung
together by countless cascading
waterfalls and miles of pleasant paths and
wooden bridges. Our visit here will include
a boat ride on the still waters of Kozjak
Lake and an electric train around the park.
We continue to Zadar where our guided

tour shows us the harbour, the historical
center, the Romanic marks and the pre-
Romanic church Saint Donat.
siBeniK / trogir / spLit. We begin
with a morning tour of Sibenik’s charming
old town, the pictorial alleys and the
famous cathedral of St. Jakova. We then
travel to the UNESCO Heritage Site of
Trogir Island, a Croatian artistic center.
Scholars from all over the world gather to
study and paint here, and you will see that
this is with good reason. We continue to
Split for our tour featuring the historic
inner city - the biggest in Dalmatia, built
around the Roman Emperor Diocletian‘s
Palace. We see the remnants of Split’s
Roman heritage, its Renaissance and
Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple and
the Peristyle.
Mostar. A scenic drive takes us to
Mostar for a guided city tour of this
beautiful old town, the famous old bridge
and the Turkish section, including a visit of
a Turkish home and the Mosque.
duBroVniK. We travel to Dubrovnik, a
UNESCO World Heritage Site and certainly
one of the most beautiful cities of Europe.
After arrival our city tour shows us the city
walls and fortifications, set-piece churches
and public buildings that blend seamlessly
with green-shuttered stone houses, the
Rector’s Palace and Europe’s oldest
apothecary in the Franciscan Monastery.
eLaphiti isLands / KonaVLe /
duBroVniK. We take a picturesque boat
trip along the coast to the Elafiti Islands.
These small islands are covered by pine
woods and boast impressive steep chalk
cliffs. Later we travel by coach to the region
of Konavle with a stop at the little mountain
village of Gruda to see the mills and enjoy
a tasting of local ham, cheese and grappa.
duBroVniK. A free day to stroll the old
city or take a local boat ride along the
coast. An optional tour will be offered to
Montenegro for those interested. Tonight
is our Farewell Dinner.
London. We fly to London and upon
arrival transfer to our hotel for an overnight.
hoMe. We fly home with British Airways.
