he Amalfi Coast is a series of small bays,
beaches, villages and towns, all with a
backdrop of rugged cliffs. The road that hugs
the cliffs affords one of the most spectacular
drives in Europe. Everywhere are orange,
lemon and olive groves, vineyards, lush
greenery and flowering shrubs - all near to the
sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. On this tour we will
take in all the wonderful sights in the region
and tantalize our taste buds by sampling the
local specialties; extra-virgin olive oil,
mozzarella cheese, Lemoncello (the local
liqueur). We will even have the opportunity to
make our own "Neapolitan" pizza!
Our tour begins with 5-nights in the resort town
of Maiori, which has its own beach and treelined
promenade. The hills and cliffs form a
wonderful backdrop, but the town itself is not
hilly and it's easy to stroll through the narrow
streets and lanes with their interesting shops,
cafes and churches. For the more energetic
there are superb walking trails to explore.
We then transfer to Sorrento for a 7-night stay.
This is the most picturesque town on the Amalfi
coast, perched high on the cliffs with stunning
views over the Bay of Naples to the distant
Mount Vesuvius. Most of Sorrento is level and
the many attractions of the town can be easily
reached on foot. Other small towns and
villages along the coast are also accessible by
local transport.
All hotels on this tour have a restaurant, bar
and lounge. Guestrooms at all hotels are
simply furnished, equipped with twin beds,
telephone, TV and private bathroom.
Our Maiori hotel is the Reginna Palace (or
similar), located in the town centre across from
the beach and promenade. The local bus stops
nearby and there are restaurants and cafes all
around. The hotel has a swimming pool.

Our hotel in Sorrento is the Hotel Bristol (or
similar), a seaside hotel near the centre of town,
on a cliff with impressive views of the Bay of
Naples. The hotel has a piano bar, pool, snack
bar, sauna, gym and mini golf.
Our tour ends with a city tour and overnight in
one of Italy’s most exciting cities - Naples.
***Those participating in any of our tours to
Europe must be able to walk fairly long
distances and climb stairs easily.
