departure. We depart for Manchester, a<br />
direct flight from Toronto.<br />
YorK. We arrive and transfer by coach to<br />
York, our home for the next 7 nights. Tonight<br />
is our Welcome Dinner.<br />
YorK. Our city tour will show us all the<br />
famous sights, including a visit to the Minster,<br />
a walk along the famous walls and a stroll<br />
along the Shambles. You will have free time<br />
in the afternoon to further explore, shop or<br />
simply enjoy some time at one of the pubs,<br />
parks or cafes. Tonight we dine at a local pub.<br />
herriot countrY. We travel to Thirsk,<br />
home town of Alf Wight, upon whose life the<br />
TV series "All Creatures Great & Small" was<br />
based. This traditional Yorkshire market town<br />
has a cobble-stoned square and old<br />
coaching inns. We enjoy a pub lunch in town,<br />
and then visit Fountains Abbey. Set in a<br />
beautiful tranquil valley, it is the largest of all<br />
the ruined abbeys in England, with one of the<br />
most spectacular Georgian water gardens.<br />
Bronte countrY. We drive through the<br />
countryside to Haworth. This stone village<br />
with its cobble-stoned main street has<br />
changed little since the days of the Bronte<br />
sisters. We see the village and surroundings<br />
that inspired Emily's "Wuthering Heights" and<br />
Charlotte’s "Jane Eyre", and visit the awardwinning<br />
Bronte Parsonage Museum. We then<br />
board the Keighly & Worth Valley Rail, made<br />
famous by the “Railway Children”. This rail<br />
line has operated since 1867 and the journey<br />
is a powerful reminder of England’s industrial<br />
heritage, as well as a unique way of enjoy the<br />
beautiful countryside.<br />
YorK at Leisure. A day at leisure. Your<br />
Tour Manager will offer suggestions. After<br />
dinner we will be entertained by local talent.<br />
castLe hoWard. We visit the 17th<br />
century Castle Howard - a "must see" in<br />
northern England. With its marriage of art,<br />
landscaping and natural beauty it is one of<br />
Britain's most extraordinary architectural<br />
gems. Later we step back in time at the<br />
award-winning Ryedale Open Air Museum<br />
and learn about the rich heritage, culture and<br />
lifestyle of this region in centuries past. Our<br />
dinner will be at a family owned inn in the<br />
Yorkshire Moors where we will enjoy<br />
deliciously prepared farm fresh food.<br />

YorKshire Moors & WhitBY. This<br />
morning we drive into the Yorkshire Moors,<br />
an area of breathtaking scenery, vast open<br />
moorland, hidden valleys and dramatic sea<br />
cliffs. We visit the small village of Goathland,<br />
made famous by the series ‘Heartbeat’. Then<br />
we explore Whitby, a seaside fishing port and<br />
popular tourist destination. This is a lovely<br />
town for strolling or people watching at the<br />
dockside cafes.<br />
stratford-upon-aVon. We travel into<br />
the District of Derby, one of the country’s best<br />
loved National Parks. Dotted with historic<br />
sites and pretty villages it also has some of<br />
England’s most wild and beautiful scenery.<br />
Later we arrive at our hotel, centrally located<br />
in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, our home<br />
for the next 6 nights.<br />
stratford-upon-aVon. We enjoy a tour<br />
of this delightful town with its timbered<br />
houses mostly unchanged from Tudor times.<br />
Included is a visit of Anne Hathaway’s<br />
cottage and a leisurely cruise along the Avon<br />
River.<br />
coVentrY / WarWicK castLe. We<br />
spend our day in Warwickshire, nestled deep<br />
in the heart of England. Our first visit is<br />
Coventry Cathedral, one of the most inspiring<br />
cathedrals in Britain. We will tour both the<br />
ruins of the old cathedral and the New<br />
Cathedral. The afternoon is spent at “Britain’s<br />
ultimate castle”, Warwick.<br />
cotsWoLds. The Cotswolds are home to<br />
some of the most unspoiled, historic and<br />
famous towns and villages in England. On<br />
our excursion today we will discover some of<br />
them with time to explore on our own. Tonight<br />
we dine in a 17th century Inn located in the<br />
heart of the Cotswolds<br />
oxford. Britain’s oldest seat of learning is<br />
beautiful with its elegant spires and honey<br />
coloured buildings. A local guide will take us<br />
on a walking tour to one of the colleges,<br />
giving insight into the courtyards and<br />
chapels.<br />
stratford. A day at leisure. Enjoy<br />
strolling and shopping in town or join an<br />
optional excursion offered by your Tour<br />
Manager.<br />
hoMe. We transfer to London and fly home.<br />
