departure. We depart for Munich.
Munich / passau. We arrive in Munich
and enjoy the scenic drive to Passau where
we board our cruise ship. Tonight we enjoy
our first delicious dinner on board.
Vienna. Our tour of Vienna begins with a
drive along the tree-lined Ringstrasse, one
of the grand boulevards of Europe. We will
see impressive buildings such as the State
Opera, The National Museums, the
Burgtheater and various monuments of well
known composers, poets and artists.
Budapest, hungarY. The river sweeps
in a gentle curve between the twin cities of
Buda and Pest, joined by eight graceful
bridges. On our included city tour we climb
to the top of Gellert Hill for great views of the
city. Then we visit the historic Old Town and
see the Royal Palace and the Parliament
buildings. This evening we enjoy a
Hungarian folklore show.
KaLocsa, hungarY. We berth at
Kalocsa, a charming town in the Hungarian
lowlands, known for its traditional Hungarian
embroidery and for the cultivation of paprika,
Hungary's national product. On our Kalocsa
excursion, we will witness a performance of
typical Hungarian horsemanship and visit
the only paprika museum in the world.
Budapest / esZtergoM. This morning
we visit Castle Godollo. In the era of the
imperial monarchy this castle became a
symbol of Empress Elisabeth and was loved
by the Hungarians. Then we continue to a
Csara (horsefarm), where we will see an
unforgettable performance of Hungarian
horsemanship. Later we drive along the
Danube to the small artist's village of
Szentendre. After a guided walk we continue
to the ruins of Visegrad for fabulous views of
the Danube "knee". We continue on to
Esztergom, dominated by the largest neoclassical
basilica in the country. Here we
visit the Basilica and enjoy a wine tasting
before returning to our ship. Budapest is
spectacular at night as the buildings and
bridges are brilliantly illuminated.
BratisLaVa, sLoVaKia. The romantic
old city of Bratislava is the capital of
Slovakia. Most of the city’s old palaces and

historical buildings have recently been
renovated, so the city retains its former
brilliance. Our included tour shows us the
gothic cathedral of St. Martin - coronation
church of Hungarian kings. Later we visit the
magnificent 18th century Castle Hof.
MeLK. Enjoy a beautiful stretch of the
Wachau as we approach Melk. After we dock
a coach will take us to Duernstein, one of
the best-known wine villages in the Wachau.
After exploring the village and tasting some
of the local wines we drive through the
picturesque landscape to the 900-year-old
Benedictine Abbey of Melk, where we will
have a guided tour. This evening is the
Captain’s Gala Dinner featuring an
entertaining show put on by the crew.
diseMBarKation / Bad hofgastein.
We disembark in Passau and enjoy a scenic
drive. After stopping for lunch near Salzburg
we proceed to our spa hotel in Bad
Hofgastein, our home for the next 7 nights.
Bad hofgastein. Enjoy some time at
leisure at our delightful mountain resort. You
may want to take advantage of the spa
treatment facilities while you are here.
saLZBurg. A full day tour to the delightful
birthplace of Mozart. Our walking tour will
take in many points of interest, after which
there will be free time to enjoy the
picturesque streets with wrought iron signs,
spacious squares and sculptured fountains.
Bad hofgastein. In addition to the spa
facilities here, the town is also great for
exploring. There are many well-marked
walking routes, away from the road traffic.
You will certainly enjoy the meadows full of
flowers and the clear mountain air.
aLpine excursion. A full day tour of the
countryside around Salzburg. Breathtaking
azure glacier lakes, stunning chateaux and,
of course, the Alps. Included will be a visit
of the area made famous by the Von Trapp
family from The Sound of Music.
Bad hofgastein. A final day at leisure to
enjoy our resort and its surroundings.
Munich / hoMe. We travel by coach to
the Munich airport and fly home.
